The Project
The proposed development at 175–177 Cleveland Street and 1–5 & 6–8 Woodburn Street, Redfern NSW 2016 is a contemporary mixed-use co-living project that involves the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new six-storey building in a highly accessible inner-city location close to Redfern Station and the Sydney CBD.
The development is designed to provide approximately 200+ co-living studio rooms supported by a range of shared amenities, including communal kitchens, lounges, outdoor recreation areas, and co-working spaces, along with ground-floor retail or café uses that activate the street frontage.
The design responds to the urban context through articulated façades, setbacks, and material variation to reduce bulk and enhance integration with surrounding development, while also improving pedestrian amenity along Cleveland and Woodburn Streets.
Overall, the project aims to contribute to increased housing supply, support diverse and affordable rental living options, and promote a vibrant, well-connected urban environment consistent with the ongoing renewal of the Redfern precinct.
